THE SUMMER WILL COME

Feature Film   |   Drama

Writer / Director: Athena Mandis

Based on the novel by Soulla Christodoulou

Against the backdrop of a divided Cyprus and the political upheaval of the 1950s, The Summer Will Come follows Evangelia, a young mother forced to leave her island home behind and begin a new life in London. Carrying her children into an uncertain future, she is pulled between memory and survival, family duty and personal sacrifice, as the emotional cost of migration begins to shape generations to come.

Spanning years of upheaval, longing and reinvention, The Summer Will Come is an intimate historical drama about exile, identity and the quiet resilience of women whose lives are transformed by forces far beyond their control. Set between Cyprus and Britain, the film explores what it means to leave home — and what remains with us long after we do.
