After a fatal mistake forces her to leave Iceland, a young doctor takes refuge at a remote cat sanctuary on a Greek island.

As she settles into its quiet routines, she becomes aware of a pattern of behaviour among the animals that she cannot fully explain. When the cats begin gathering each night in the same location, appearing to respond to something beyond the visible landscape, her sense of certainty begins to erode. As her perception shifts, she must confront the possibility that what she is experiencing may not be external to the island, but may originate from something she has not confronted.
